The purchase makes Richmond, United Garage Door’s eighth location.
Columbus, Ohio (April 25, 2024) – United Garage Door, headquartered in Columbus, Ohio announces the acquisition of Amarr Distribution Center, located at 5120 Commerce Road, Richmond, Virginia.
The location, previously privately owned and operated, makes United Garage Door’s eighth distribution center, fifth under the name United Garage Door, and expands the distribution territory further East allowing for sales to more garage door installers in states previously not served by United Garage Door.
“This is solid location, with a dedicated staff and community,” United Garage Door President Joe Clark highlighted when first sharing the news with his team. “The Richmond Amarr location will transition seamlessly into United Garage Door ownership, where we focus solely on door distribution, ensuring we complement rather than compete with installation services.”
The change in ownership provides local installers with access to an expanded array of offerings, including LiftMaster and Genie Operators, along with a comprehensive selection of competitively priced parts. Under United Garage Door ownership, local installers will also now have access to the expansion support services to help grow their business and empower their teams. “We look forward to working with the local dealers, to grow business in the greater Richmond community,” Clark recapped.
In Q4 2023, United Garage Door acquired Authority Garage Supply – Florida’s largest supplier of garage doors, parts, and accessories; with distribution centers strategically located in Tampa, Orlando, and Miami.
